Seashore and PDFLab

July 22, 2006 – 4:05 pm

Just a note about two Mac programs that you should check out; Seashore and PDFLab.

Seashore is “an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP’s technology and uses the same native file format.”  Plus, it’s free and open source.

PDFLab “lets you split and join PDF documents as well as insert images and blank pages. You will also be able to easily create PDF documents out of several images.” This is also free, and when coupled with PDFShrink, negates the average user’s needs for any of the standard or professional acrobat products.

I also recently came across something called Lulu… the idea intrigues me. Maybe more on this later.

  2. I have just played with Seashore… and I think I like it, though I will have to play with it even more to get it to bend to my will… *rubs hands together in an evil manner*

Thanks for sharing :) It’s always fun to play with new programs!
